Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero is an American actress singer and former model. The most famous of her works is her role in Prince's 1984 movie Purple Rain as well as having the role of lead singer in Apollonia 6, a girl group. The singer and actress christened Apollonia by Prince was one of many female performers throughout the 1980s that benefited through her relationship with Prince. Purple One. They had a minor success with the film Sex Shooter, but it was in the role of Prince's duet partner on Take Me with You from the soundtrack, that she created an impact on the charts. When the two had a disagreement over the direction of her career Apollonia 6 split up and Kotero quit her relationship with Prince. Over the next few years, she appeared in several minor films. (She is reported to have refused to take part in the Purple Rain film Under the Cherry Moon.) Her also appeared on the evening show Falcon Crest between 1985-1986. Apollonia released her first album in 1988, however it was a fairly pedestrian mix of dance and R&B music that didn't impress the public. The album soon vanished from view. She remained active (if somewhat unnoticed) as an actress during the following decade, appearing in small television roles and minor films and even issued her own exercise videos. Apollonia made a record in English and Spanish that was titled Stay with Me, in 1997. After that, she attended school and earned a filmmaking degree. Then, she started her own production firm. The American beauty also appeared in music video clips for Ray Parker Jr., Eddie Money and other artists. Kotero is an entrepreneur as well and the co-founder of Kotero Entertainment a multimedia entertainment business.
